Sprint to Launch Windows Phone 8 in 2013

Just as the latest Windows Phone 8 devices by Nokia and HTC make their debut on AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile, PC Magazine has learned that the devices will make their way to Sprint by next year. Sprint confirmed that it is working with Microsoft to launch the latest Windows Phone 8 devices in 2013 on its 4G LTE network.

“‘Sprint and Microsoft are partnering to bring Windows Phone 8 to Sprint’s customers – operating on its 4G LTE network – next year,’ the company said in an emailed statement.”

AT&T appears to remain the de facto Windows Phone partner for Microsoft, although Sprint could make a successful run at carrying the latest Nokia and HTC devices. Sprint recently struck a deal with U.S. Cellular to expand its 4G LTE footprint, while it is in the process of having 70 percent of its company acquired by Japan’s Softbank.
